April’s capsule launches tomorrow and I thought it was the perfect time to bring in some pretty spring lip colors! In the fall and winter I love a deep berry color and the summer is made for red, but what about spring? I need something that isn’t too pale but also want a bit of color. One of these is a new favorite and the other is an old favorite. Like old old. I’ve been wearing it for almost ten years!
This Maybelline Lifter in Petal is a sheer barely there pink. It’s great on its own when you’re going for a more natural look, or layers beautifully over a more pigmented lip color to give it a gloss. Link
I have been wearing Clinique’s Broadest Berry since it came out in 2012! I know the packaging makes it look dark, but it’s a beautiful shade just perfect for spring. It’s that lip color that everyone says “oh, I love your lip color, what is that?” And the cool thing is, it comes with a little secret. Swipe on a layer or two for spring and summer and it bumps up your natural lip color without reading LIPSTICK! But come fall and winter? Build a few more layers and it’s a gorgeous, rich color just perfect for cooler temps and heavier sweaters. If you’re the type of person who just wants one desert island lipstick, this one would be my recommendation. Link
