If we spent any time together in the mid-aughts, chances are you heard me order my “signature” drink at the time–a Grey Goose Lemon Drop. I loved the sexy martini glass, its sugared rim, the tart lemon and a vodka that was a little easier on me the next day than the bottom shelf liquor of my college days.
Lemon Drops still make an appearance, albeit a little less regularly (ahem) and in a slightly modified way. I’ve downshifted to a normal glass, got rid of the sugared rim and now make these in batches for summery get togethers using pared down ingredients. My current mood is “I’ll make you your first drink and then feel free to help yourself!”
If you’re looking for a cocktail with simple ingredients that you can serve at get togethers this summer, this is a delicious one. We use a light lemonade and punch it up with fresh slices of lemon that look so pretty in a glass drink dispenser. Let me know if you try it!
